about
written within a permanent feeling i have of being incredibly polar and having to find peace with that. everyone has to figure out how to be comfortable with being alone at some point in their lives. i think the way humans share light comes in two forms; through 'shining' and through 'glowing.' when we shine, we reflect light cast from others and our own shapes mingle with it to create one great beautiful share body of light. but when we glow, that light is created and forged from within. it is wholly our own to watch flicker. finding comfort in being alone is finding out how to see yourself glow.
lyrics
i found a way to stay inside for the rest of my life
my room's a bottle of all the times i felt like i was tossed to the wayside
and if i stare the mirror down long enough
ill figure out who's really tough
and most of us will find a light but not enough will see it from the inside
if you ask your heart, she'll kindly say 'do you reflect the light, or make it in your own way?'
so ill thank the world when it leaves me behind for letting me glow instead of shine <3
