in writing this song, i have arrived upon a better understanding and acceptance of what death means; what it means to watch someone die, miss their presence, and what patience i must have and trust i must carry in the time proceeding my own death and the spirituality that i hope to come after. instead of running my whole life to catch up and find fleeting echoes of the ones i have seen pass over, instead i want to live in their memory and appreciate the patience we both have that we will come together again in the afterlife. i'm constantly met with the image of my closest friends sitting in a circle and flipping through the book of all of our recorded memories, emotions, and feelings. it's pretty like that.
